Trump Tells South Carolina Republican Primary Winner Joe Biden 'You're Fired'

Donald Trump has mocked his rival for the Republican presidential nomination, Nikki Haley, after the Charles Koch-backed Americans for Prosperity Action Donor Network announced it would no longer support her campaign after she lost the South Carolina primary.

A jubilant Mr Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday that Mr Koch and his partners had “played for the suckers from the start”.

The GOP front-runner, after his fourth straight primary win on Saturday, deliberately failed to mention Ms Haley, turning his gaze to Joe Biden and telling the president: “You're fired!”

Earlier in the day, Mr Trump addressed CPAC and compared himself to infamous Depression-era gangster Al Capone, likened illegal immigrants to Hannibal Lecter – who threaten to bring a new wave of crime to America – and boasted of refusing to step down. Despite his ever mounting legal troubles on the one hand.

Meanwhile, the candidate faces a cash crunch as he faces deadlines to pay two court-ordered funds: $454m (including interest) in a New York fraud case and $83.3m in defamation damages owed to sex offender E Jean Carroll.
