It was also the episode previously teased by news reports that Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin was dropped on set. Hamlin made the appearance just weeks after collapsing on the field during a Jan. 2 game. In the episode, he is introduced by his little brother Damir.
“My brother, that’s my world,” Hamlin said of why he appeared. “I put family first. And he loves ‘Sesame Street’ more than most things. So, tonight we had to do it.
Singer Jennifer Nettles, host of Fox’s “Farmer Wants a Wife,” aired after “The Masked Singer.”
Like last season, “The Masked Singer” once again adopted a “masked singer” format. In each episode, three costumed celebrities perform, but only one wins and competes again next week. After each round, the three finalists will compete in the semi-finals.
That means one contestant will be hidden in the middle of the episode, and the top two singers will face off in a “battle royale.” After first unmasking Ackerman as Squirrel, it pits Jackalope and Fairy against each other with “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons. Jackalope got the fewest votes and was unmasked as Ponce. The Fairy moves on to next week’s episode.
New this season is “Ding Tong Keep It On.” In a new twist to the competition, team members will have the chance to save a singer from elimination, but can only ring the bell three times in the first three rounds. All three singers will face a special episode in the battle to reunite in the competition. The bell did not ring on Wednesday.

Here are the contestants on night five and their performances:
Angel (winner)
Song“You’re No Good” by Linda Ronstadt
The group guesses: Tracee Ellis Rose, Angelina Jolie, Rashida Jones
Clue: Cookie Monster holds a paper plate that says “Endless Love”.
Package Voiceover: “’Sesame Street’ is my debut at night and I feel at home. Because I grew up on these streets. Some might say I was a little angel, meaning I collected my pocket money from the neighborhood kids and watched my dad hang around the house while the other kids had allowances. Like some of my friends growing up, I certainly could have taken a direct route to fame. But I chose a very different path, prioritizing my education and traveling the world. Eventually my fate led me to the limelight of Tinseltown. I don’t think office work is for me. I got to pursue my two loves: singing and acting. Now it’s time to sing one of my favorite ‘Sesame Street’ songs. Because why is he angry, he is an old friend.
Jackalope (LELE PONS)
Song: “Anytime, Anywhere,” Shakira wrote
Clue: The count holds a sign that says “30 under 30”. “Donald Glover, Emma Stone and Michael B. Jordan. It’s an honor to be on the same list,” he said.
The group guesses: Lele Pons, Jenna Ortega, Camilla Cabello
Package Voiceover: “I’m very happy to enter the ‘Sesame Street’ night ring because I love entertaining people of all ages. Although I’m known to have a lot of influence, you’d be surprised that I’m not very social. As a child, speaking was not amazing to me. So, growing up, I wanted to express myself through music and dance. I was a pioneer in ways. Pretty soon, people all over the world started contacting me about what I’m doing because this jackalope doesn’t lie. It might seem crazy to post about your problems to millions of strangers, but being vulnerable gives me strength. I’ve built a modern family out of it, together. We’ve defined a profession. My kind of infamy has had its fair share of trolls. But I’ve learned to have a thick skin in my arena. So, watch out for my competition, because these bunnies ‘s moves shine brightly on Wednesdays.
Squirrel (MALIN AKERMAN)
Song: “Just the Two of Us” by Grover Washington Jr., feat. Bill Withers
The team guesses: Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson, Malin Akerman, Anne Hathaway
Clue: Buffalo Bills player Tamar Hamlin brings a football with Jeong’s face on it. Squirrel said: “Ken, this isn’t the first time we’ve worked together. But it’s the first time you’ve had too many lines.
Package Voiceover: “Last week I was nuts coming out as a squirrel. I had some tough competition, but I knew that if I got into Battle Royale, I could tap into my inner rock star and show what I’m made of. Now that I’m sitting in the champion’s seat, I feel a new fire. I’m working hard to make sure no one is going to take this title away from me, especially not on ‘Sesame Street’ night. I dedicate my performance to the Count because my child is his first fan. That guy’s got some style. Like this new clue. [A wedding gown]. Say yes to the guess.
