Baltimore PD has responded to an active shooter scene near Morgan State.
Baltimore police responded to the scene of an active shooting on a street adjacent to Morgan State University Tuesday night, confirming “multiple victims” were involved.
As of 11:55 pm ET, Baltimore police said on social media that the incident is no longer being treated as an active shooter situation. Half an hour later, Morgan State University said Accommodation arrangement Thrown in the premises.
Officials first alerted the public to the active shooter situation around 10 p.m. ET.
“BPD is on scene of an active shooter situation in the 1700 block of Argonne Drive,” police shared on X (formerly Twitter) at the time. “We urge everyone to shelter in place and avoid the area.”
The Police updated the public A short time later, the social media site posted, “BPD confirms multiple victims are involved. Please remain in the area and avoid the area.”
Argonne Drive borders Morgan State University.
Baltimore police were supported by agents from the Baltimore Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
“ATF Special Agents are responding to assist our @BaltimorePolice partners at a shooting situation in the 1700 block of Argonne Drive. Please avoid the area. Bystanders should stay in place,” ATF wrote on X.
Morgan State University also asked students to “shelter in place” via social media.
“Please note: An active investigation into a report of shots fired on or near campus is currently underway. Please stay away from the area around Thurgood Marshall Hall and the Murphy Fine Arts Center and residence halls,” their tweet read.
Police and the university later asked family members to avoid the campus area.
“They can report to the Safeway parking lot at 4401 Harford Road. A BPD officer will be on site,” police posted on X.
