The Joe Flacco comeback tour is in overdrive.
Next up, the New York Jets on Thursday night. Flacco will quarterback the Cleveland Browns against the Jets, a team he played with for three seasons, making nine starts. He would lead the Browns to their fourth straight win.
Expectations were low when the Browns signed Flacco for the fourth starting quarterback of the season in November. But the Browns went 3-1 in a comfortable 10-5 postseason after he took over. Flacco, 38, has been a steady force on a Browns team that boasts an elite defense. It's a familiar formula that led the Baltimore Ravens to a championship after the 2012 season, with Flacco earning Super Bowl MVP honors in the process.
But before the Browns can even begin to think about an unexpected Super Bowl run, they must first get to the playoffs. Beating a reeling Jets team starting Trevor Siemian at quarterback would punch their ticket.
